Work and Travel
Work & Travel is a program that allows students from all over the world to visit the US and actually work there for a few months. It’s a very interesting experience for students, as they get a feel for how it is to work in the United States alongside citizens from that country. Moreover, this is one of the best ways to discover America and get some pocket money during the summer.
Why should you try out the Work & Travel program?
There are lots of reasons why the Work & Travel program may be the right one for you. First, you get to discover the US in all of its glory. You get to immerse yourself in the local culture, and you can even improve your CV and boost your work skills along the way.
In addition to that, nothing beats the Work & Travel if you want to get practical work experience and improve your English language skills. Simply put, Work & Travel is an ideal program for every student that always wanted to visit the US but never had the means to do so!
Are there any requirements?
Yes, if you want to be a part of the Work & Travel program you will have to pass a few
requirements, as follows:
• You need to be over 18 years old
• Great English speaking skills
• Currently registered as a full-time student
• You will undergo an interview in English.
What type of jobs can you access during the Work & Travel program?
Once you apply to the Work & Travel program, you can access a wide array of jobs. These include jobs in theme parks, offices, department stores, hotels, resorts, amusement parks, restaurants and so on. It’s a great opportunity for you to see how these jobs work, all while being able to explore the country! There are some jobs like door to door sales, medical services, au pair, nanny or crew member that aren’t covered by the Work & Travel program.
Do you need any specific documents?
There are a few things you will need here. This includes a copy of English proficiency test results, the participant application form, a passport copy, 5 photos (sized 5x5) and a student proof from the university. You may also need a bank statement, US VISA application and a VISA fee receipt, depending on the situation.
What’s included with the program?
The Work & Travel does come with some great features. You get assistance in getting a job and any US government documents that allow you to be employed in the US. You will also receive pre-departure information, orientation to visa counseling, travel arrangements, SEVIS registration, insurance and other great features.
As you can see, the Work & Travel program is a very impressive way for students to visit the US and actually find a job there for a few months. If you always wanted to visit the United States of America, then you should definitely consider giving the Work & Travel program a shot. It offers you the ultimate way of exploring the country, and you can also get some great work experience in the process!
Students that want to be a part of the program will have to attend two orientation sessions, the Visa orientation and the Host Country Orientation, both of which are conducted by our staff. These orientation services are designed to help you learn more about the program, get any tips, tax refund details and advice.
Please Note: The participant wage may not cover all expenses, which is why you need to make sure that you have enough money when you come to the US. A good idea is to have around $1000 on you or so, just to be certain that you won’t run out of cash.
